Melanie Dean
Director, Executive Training

MelanieBorn in The Pas Manitoba and member of Mathias Colomb Cree Nation Melanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Winnipeg ’02. She is the Executive Director of Empowering Indigenous Youth in Governance and Leadership (EIYGL), she’s worked at Income Security Programs and Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative with the Federal Government as an intern during her University experience, transcriber and editor at APTN, Acting Coach at Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Youth Care worker and Cultural Coordinator at Seven Oaks School Division Keeping Balance after school program, and an actor that performs in various onstage plays such as, Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, The Crisis in Oka Manitoba with Red Roots Theatre Company, August Osage County with MTC, and Jail Baby with Sarasvati Productions. She is a Jingle Dress dancer and active volunteer within the community and with various Committees and Boards.
