MISSION STATEMENT
The FNJI-G is a technical working group that promotes and facilitates cooperation, networking, public discussion and support capacity building for First Nation communities in relation to governance. As such, the FNJI-G offers and shares experience and expertise in the better understanding of governance for First Nation communities.
GOALS
- To foster cooperation and networking among First Nation governance technicians by creating a technical forum to discuss projects, strategies, ideas, problems and solutions.
- To learn from each other in the tradition of respect sharing and honesty by listening, receiving and offering insight and assistance when appropriate.
- To provide a forum to gather and disseminate current technical governance information and resources regarding governance development and issues across the country among First Nation communities, government officials, politicians and Canadians in general.
- To facilitate capacity building among First Nation Governance Technicians.
- To pass technical governance knowledge on to First Nation youth by ensuring meaningful opportunities for their participation.
AUTHORITY
The FNJI-G does not have any authority other than to share information and promote cooperation, networking and capacity building.
